As a class we have been looking at music videos and looking how they are unique, attract the audience but also please the institution. One video that we looked at was Will Young ' Leave right now '.
What we found interesting and different about this particular music video is how the camera is focused in one place and doesn't leave. It is focused on Will Young but also has taken into consideration the mise-en-scene and the characters in the video - how their responses add to the narrative of who will young is and what he is doing there. I believe that how Will Young is isolated is reflecting the narrative and through this the audience can relate to the song as they may have been in a similar position.
Through this really simple shot it portrays the meaning of the song, and gives a more powerful message as this type of video has not been done before.
