Evaluation Question 3 - What have you learned from your audience feedback?
I have received many different sources of audience feedback, I used questionnaires for my rough cut of my music video so that I was aware of what my target audience liked, disliked and what they thought could be improved. This was vital as it meant that I could directly meet the needs of my audience through my music video once I had made amendments to create my final project.
The feedback I received on my rough cut was that the pace of the video should be quickened by cutting between shots faster and adding a greater variety of shots. Most really like the split screen use in my video which is promising as it is a convention we created but feel resembles the indie genre well, however they didn't like the pace and felt more colours could be used. We used this feedback directly and made many amendments to our video from the questionnaires I collected.
I also received feedback on my first draft of my ancillary task to make sure that my products directly targeted my audiences needs. The feedback I received from my audience concluded that they really liked both the CD cover and poster and only minor changes had to be made regarding making the font larger or clearer to see.
The last bit of audience feedback that I received was in the form of interviews within a focus group of my target audience a mix of teenage boys and girls to see if my final product met their needs directly. I also asked parents of my target audience to see their reaction to my product as they may be responsible for buying my product for their children. Here is the video of my focus group answering my questions -
What I have learnt from audience feedback is that if I took my feedback directly and made changes to both my ancillary task and video that the final outcome results in my target audiences needs being met. I believe that I was successful in meeting my audiences needs as I recieved very positive feedback regarding the split screens which in my rough cut questionnaires they asked for more off and in the final interviews they continued to praise the split screens saying it added variety and interest to my video. I believe that over all my media text is suitable to my target audience as 100% said it fitted into the indie genre which was our main concern that it needed to fit into the indie genre, and many would buy the CD after the watching the video showing the success of links made between all my products and the the amount of interest created by watching the video.
Here is a pie chart showing the numbers of those who would buy the CD -
Here is a pie chart of showing the number of people thought my video fitted into the indie genre -
If I were to do this project again the main down fall of my video I believe is that the audience were not convinced by the actors, I would get them to play to a real audience or instruct them to move more and add more emotion so that it is a more convincing performance. I would also add more editing effects and would film more shots so that we had a greater variety when editing, I would also make sure that all members of the band knew exactly what they were playing. However overall I'm very happy with all my products and glad the audience loved the split screen a convention that we developed and created.

Evaluation Question 2 - How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
To measure the effectiveness of the both my main product and ancillary tasks in order to do this I need to look at how well it met my audiences needs and if my theme across both products was constant and fitted in with the genre.
I believe that a product as a whole the theme stays relatively constant across all three texts and works effectively as a combination allowing the audience to make intra textual links between products. All products portray the kooky theme whether it be through the use of colouring, editing or use of props. Therefore my product works effectively as combination of my main product and ancillary task. However the digi-pack and video work exceptionally well together as they use the same conventions however the poster is slightly different and doesn’t use the same conventions I still believe it will attract and met the demands of the target audience but it doesn’t work effectively with my other two products.

Changes to video
Today in class we noticed there were errors in the video where I was visible filming and Jess's little sister was also visible in some clips. To rectify these we have had to crop and cut clips to remove me and it has also involved removing and changing clips all together.
However from doing this now our video has been improved greatly and the micro elements of the video have been targeted well.

To make my product more as a whole when we put our template of photos into a CD case we have created spines to the CD case -
I am very happy with my products and feel that they resemble the indie genre, but also my video as well creating links between them. This has ensured that my products meet my audience needs.
